Blindbox Community is where writers, animators and people with one unhinged idea will publish their own interactive short stories. You keep the story and 99% of the royalties it earns. We keep 1%.
SEE HOW THE MODEL WORKSMost platforms take a third. We think the person who thought of the armpit joke should get paid for the armpit joke. Blindbox takes a 1% fee on the royalties your story earns, and nothing to publish.
A Blindbox story is small on purpose: a 30-second episode, two choices, two endings. That is one evening of work, not a production.
One scene, one out-of-pocket opening line, two moments where the viewer decides what happens.
Animate, film or generate five short shots and a few voice lines. The player handles choices, captions and endings.
We check it against the house rules, then it goes into the boxes viewers open. The first episode is always free.
When viewers unlock later episodes, the royalties are yours. You see what each choice and ending earned.
We are building this in the open and in order. No dates until the stage before it works.
We make the first stories ourselves to prove the format and the player.
A small invited group publishes with our help, and we set the payout rules together.
Self-serve publishing. If you can write a scene, you can ship a box.
These three are ours. Yours would sit right next to them. Play one to see what you would be making.
From the royalties your story earns after card-processor and app-store fees. If your story earns nothing, the fee is nothing.
Not yet. Right now only Blindbox Originals are live. The first outside creators will be a small invited group.
No. Animate it, film it, draw it or generate it. The player only needs short vertical clips and voice lines.
The plan is no. Making your clips is on you; putting the story in a box is free.
The first episode of every story is free. Later episodes unlock for a small price. That part is not built yet.
